Leading Advertisers#

Key Creative Patterns#

"Own a piece of the protocol" is the dominant framing — governance token ads sell participation rights, not just price speculation. Arbitrum DAO ran heavy campaigns after the March 2023 ARB airdrop, explaining voting power and delegate mechanics.

Grant program advertising is a distinct DAO creative category: Arbitrum and Uniswap ads promoted grant programs for developers and projects building on the protocol, targeting builders rather than investors. "Apply for $50K ARB grant" ads drove developer community growth.

Token distribution events (airdrops, retroactive rewards) generate the highest single-event ad volume. ENS DAO's retroactive airdrop to .eth domain holders created a sustained educational ad campaign explaining governance participation.

Geographic Distribution#

English and Chinese channels dominate DAO governance ad volume — governance participation requires sophisticated DeFi understanding.
